Hey Sailors, I am adding a spinnaker to my rig and need to know what height on the mast above the lower spar band the turning block for the topping lift is secured . It doesn't appear to state the measurement in the class rules. Thanks, otter.

If you mean the spinnaker pole lift, there are no regulations. The block or the fitting for attaching the block is normally found approximately at the height of the spreaders.

According to the class rule drawing, it is supposed to be placed maximum 7630mm above the lower spar band.

If you mean the spinnaker boom topping lift height, this is not regulated by the class rules. Suitable position for the topping lift block is the spreader height or just above.

If you mean the Spinnaker Hoist Height, this should be max 7630 mm above the Lower Point Height, which is the same as the Datum Point. For definition of expressions, refer to ERS, Euipment Rules of Sailing, which are to be found on the ISAF website.
